Unlike the 318 and 320 models, the 317 sight is not designed to be a pressure-retaining sight, but rather a simple observation window. This makes the 317 sight significantly lighter and slimmer than other sights of this type available on the market.
Despite the lower requirements, our Type 317 product sight glasses are made from the same high-quality 1.4571 (316Ti) stainless steel that is so highly valued by our customers. The glass material used is industry-proven borosilicate glass 3.3, in accordance with DIN 7080 (or equivalent). The connection is sealed using flat gaskets tailored to your requirements from an extensive range of materials; in addition to the widely used fibre gaskets, we also offer more sophisticated materials such as PTFE (Teflon®), NBR, graphite and many other branded gaskets.
If the maximum operating temperature of 280°C does not meet your requirements, or if the process conditions pose a problem even for the highly resistant borosilicate glass, a mica or FEP protective screen specially adapted for the connection offers additional protection against steam and aggressive chemicals, such as alkalis up to a pH value of 14.
Like other circular product displays, the 317 display can be fitted with an SGW-type brush, spray nozzles or lights on request.
