Sight Glass 318 – PN 2.5 – DIN 28120

Lightweight design – Maximum 2.5 bar

Type 318 circular product sight glasses are welded into or onto the wall of a vessel to allow observation or lighting of the vessel interior. For applications with an operating pressure up to 2.5 bar, based on the DIN 28120 standard. The 318 sight glass is made of highly chemically resistant DIN 7080 borosilicate glass (or similar) and is fixed between two high-quality stainless steel flanges and proven quality seals.

Tailor-made solutions, just a few clicks away:

Compared to the design developed according to DIN 28120, the 318 sight glass is significantly thinner and lighter. The type 318 sight glass is a cost-effective alternative for low-pressure operations, fitting perfectly into our range between the 317 model for pressureless operations and the more robust 320 version.

Despite the lower requirements, our type 318 product sight glasses are made of the same high-quality stainless steel 1.4571 (316Ti) highly valued by our customers. The glass material used is industry-proven 3.3 borosilicate glass according to DIN 7080 (or similar).

The connection is sealed with flat gaskets adapted to your needs from an extensive range of materials, which, in addition to the widely used fiber gaskets, also include more sophisticated materials such as PTFE (Teflon®), NBR, graphite, and many other brand-name gaskets.

If the maximum operating temperature of 280°C does not meet your requirements, or if the process conditions pose a problem even for the highly resistant borosilicate glass, a mica or FEP protective screen specially adapted for the connection offers additional protection against steam and aggressive chemicals, such as alkalis up to a pH value of 14.

Like other circular product sight glasses, the 318 sight glass can be equipped with an SGW-type wiper, spray devices, or lights upon request.
