Pulse Output Device (POD)

The SAMPI/LC Pulse Output Device (POD) converts the rotary movement of the Positive Displacement Meter into electronic pulses. This allows the meter to interface with the TE550 Electronic Register and a wide variety of electronic monitoring devices and control equipment.

Tailor-made solutions, just a few clicks away:

The POD is mounted directly to the front cover of any SAMPI/LC meter in place of the mechanical flange. The movement of the meter rotors is magnetically coupled through a stainless steel wall to the POD’s electronic compartment. This eliminates the dynamic seal overlap and isolates the electronic components from the fluid.

Main Specifications of the Pulse Output Device:

– Voltage (V +): +8 to +24 VDC (POD5 is +5 VDC) ± 5%.
– Current source: 26 mA typical.
– Output signal resolution: 100 pulses per encoder rotation, unscaled. For actual meter resolution.
– Square wave: single or dual balance channel output.
– Operating temperature range: -40 °C to 85 °C.
– Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI, RFI, etc.): according to IEC 801 standards.
– Operates in bidirectional flow applications.
