The operating principle of HPV hydraulic valves is as follows:
\nThe fluid flows from the \u2018inlet chamber\u2019 to the \u2018intermediate chamber\u2019 through a port in the cover and then through a debris-proof filter. It then fills the \u2018diaphragm chamber\u2019 via a port. In the next step, it reaches the solenoid valve support block via a connection orifice. Inside the block, the fluid encounters two paths running parallel to each other to reach the \u201cdischarge chamber\u201d. The fluid experiences pressure drops along this path depending on the opening level of the orifices and the opening of the valves. An intermediate pressure is established between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure as a result of these pressure drops in the \u201cdiaphragm chamber\u201d. In conjunction with the action of the spring, this pressure moves the axial position of the plug, which in turn influences the upstream\/downstream pressure values of the valve and, therefore, also the pressure in the \u201cdiaphragm chamber\u201d. Consequently, the balance of forces is further altered, which regulates the position of the diaphragm itself. This phenomenon ceases once the equilibrium position is reached, where the effect of the pressure in the \u2018diaphragm chamber\u2019, combined with the spring force, is equal to the effect of the supply pressure.
\nThe valve operates according to three operating modes;
\n– Closed;
\n– Intermediate low-flow position;
\n– High-flow position.
\nThe high-flow position may, in the worst-case scenario, correspond to the fully open valve position, but it can still be adjusted to limit the line capacity.
