Magnesium Anodes are an efficient solution for cathodic protection<\/strong>, a method that protects buried or submerged metal structures from corrosion. These galvanic anodes are ideal for infrastructure such as pipelines, storage tanks, gas and water networks<\/strong>, and other metal structures in direct contact with soil or water. <\/p>\n

Magnesium anodes act as a “sacrificial” metal<\/strong>. When connected to the metal structure to be protected, they corrode in a controlled manner, transferring corrosion from the base metal to the anode. This process extends the service life of the structure<\/strong>, preventing failures and metal degradation. The effectiveness of magnesium anodes is due to their high electrochemical potential, which is ideal for high-resistivity soils. <\/p>\n

Features of Magnesium Anodes:<\/b><\/h6>\n

Composition: Mg 92% – Al 5% min. 7% max. – Zn 2% min. 4% max. – Si 0.3% – Cu 0.1% – Mn 0.15% – Fe 0.003% – Ni 0.003%
\nStandard models: 2 kg, 2.3 kg, 3 kg, 4 kg, 5 kg, 7.5 kg, 10 kg and 15 kg.
\nSoil potential: -1.5 V (Cu\/CuSO4)
\nConsumption: 7.1 kg\/A.year <\/p>\n

Backfill mix:<\/strong>
\nThe anode is coated with a backfill mix composed of the following elements:
\nGypsum, bentonite and sodium sulphate.<\/p>\n

Cable and Connection:<\/strong>
\nThe cable used is a cathodic protection type from 2.5 mm\u00b2 to 16 mm\u00b2. Length: 5 m standard. <\/p>\n

Packaging:<\/strong>
\nEach anode is individually packed in plastic packaging to protect it from moisture.
\nThis plastic packaging must be removed when installing the anode.<\/p>\n
